Floor-Based Handspring on Split
Floor-Based Handspring on Split
The base partner will stand next to the pole, while the flyer kneels in front.
The flyer will place their hand, with the pointer finger facing down, onto the shin of their flyer’s outside leg, right above the ankle. The flyer should be facing towards the pole at this point, not away.
The base will begin to lift their inner leg up, into a split while allowing their flyer to hook their forearm into their hip, grabbing around their thigh. Once the flyer has hooked their arm, the base will continue to extend their leg and secure it into a split by using their outer arm to grab the pole in a cup grip below their heel.
The flyer then turns their body to the ceiling and kicks up into their handspring position.
To exit the position, the flying partner can land to the side on their feet, while the base partner slowly brings their leg down.
