How it all began... my first pole dance class

Hi, I'm Alyssa and I'm 9 years old. Pole dance has become my passion and today I'll tell you how it all started.

In September 2021, my best friend asked me if I would like to come to the pole dance class. Of course, I had no idea what that actually was, and I was already busy enough with sport. But of course I came along and went to training with my girlfriend two or three times.

I actually wanted a turtle for my eighth birthday in October, but when that unfortunately didn't work out at short notice, I was asked to choose a new present. Now you're probably wondering what I wished for? The answer to this question was very clear: a pole dance pole for my room. So it was clear to my parents that I had taken a liking to the new sport. Unfortunately, my best friend left, but I stayed.

When the first competition was due in 2022, I was immediately enthusiastic. My ambition was awakened and I trained diligently. Even one or two injuries couldn't stop me.

Is that the end for me?

It happened on August 7th: I fell off the bar during training, broke my wrist and had surgery the very next day! There were a lot of big tears because that meant the end of my very first competition. I was devastated.

Ambition and will...

Strong will of a child, nothing can stop them from pole dancing.
The first day after the op and I'm already attached to everything.

As 9/24 (championship day) got closer, I got more and more nervous. The wires came out and on Wednesdays before the competition I asked my parents to talk to Mia (studio owner) and Angi (my coach). I really wanted to take part in the competition.

The studio owner allowed herself to be persuaded, I think it was also my sugar-sweet nature and that Mia is an athlete herself and knew exactly how I felt and why I really wanted to be on stage. We got the medical OK, and studio owner Mia then worked hard to make sure I was allowed to start. Discussions with the organizers and judges were not easy, but in the end we got the go from everyone. I was relieved and very happy. Angelina and Mia managed to change my choreo 2 days before departure so that I could dance it despite my weak hand. Of course we had to dial down a lot of tricks, but all that mattered to me was that I was on the

Stage could. After a dress rehearsal in the studio, seven weeks after the operation and with only 2 training sessions, I started for my very first championship and took third place. I was a bit disappointed, even though my coaches assured me that despite everything, I did my best and gave an excellent performance on stage.

I'm still a long way from my goal...

When the German championship came up for the first time, I was hooked again. I decided to take part directly with Maria, my competitor in the singles, in the doubles and of course also in the singles.

Now we are a few weeks away from the DM and the excitement is building. At the age of nine it will definitely be an unforgettable memory. Let's see what will happen... I will definitely tell you about my experience at Deutsche Me
